The Awakening

I made love
and the stars fell from the sky
My environment disappeared
In a haze of bliss
I lost my boundaries
Staked out so rigidly
In childhood

Became another in every way,
Fused in total erotic synergie
Discovered how wars could be fought
And lives surrendered for another

Entered into the inner sanctum
Of the blessed
Looked back in anguish
At the countless times
I gave my body,
Even in love
But never surrender

Yes, I made love
And life was changed
From that moment on

Should I never love again
To that intensity
Should I decide
To settle for the compromise
Of so many

Nothing can rob me
Of my knowledge

I made love
And the stars fell and the heavens opened

I have been very blessed indeed.
