Crystal healing is basically
the 'laying on' of stones of different vibrational rates onto the
body in order to effect healing and change. It may also involve
laying out different energy grids or specific patterns of crystals
around the body. It can also be the making of gem essences where
the vibrational potency of the specific crystal is infused in spring
water and drunk to aquire the healing properties of the crystals
as necessary for the client's well being.
In order to fully understand this science you have to be aware of
the subtle energy centres (chakras) and meridians (pathways) of that
energy through the body. This is discussed in more detail below in
The Human Energy Field and Prana.
How does Crystal Healing Work?
It
is too vast a subject to go into great depth here, so I will stick
with the rudimentary fundamentals of it.
Quartz crystals have a very high and precise rate of vibration
and so they are utilised extensively in modern technology, ranging
from the liquid crystal diodes in calculators and clocks to their
use in computers, credit cards, fibre-optic phone lines and laser
technology.
Diamond, being the hardest substance on Earth, has been used for
cutting other gems and drilling. They are magnifyers of energy,
capable of absorbing and enhancing energy. Clear quartz can
be programmed to assist us in almost anything. They are incredibly
powerful and so should always be used with respect. They can focus
and amplify energy or prana.
The Properties Of Crystals
The concept that memories can be held in our cells, joints and
bones is hard to accept for those who have accepted everything they
have been taught as being the "Truth" It may seem strange
to many of us, but it is in fact true. As each cell in our bodies
has consciousness, so it can hold memory. This is now being scientifically

Often
while practicing Reiki, for instance, there has been a sudden release
of totally unexpected emotion from someone as the energy releases
memories from the knees or solar plexus.
So you see, clear quartz alone is capable of all the above. This
is why it deserves its name the Master Healer.
Crystals are alive like everything else in the universe. They vibrate
at different levels depending on their composition and colour. They
have certain characteristics that make them wonderful allies to
us.
In crystal healing, we work in partnership with them by placing
them on or near the body in order to effect healing change. One
of the most basic ways is placing a different crystal on each of
the chakras (see picture below) in order to restore balance to the
whole system. They do this by allowing the rate of their vibration
to effect change in the rate of the spinning energy centres of the
chakras, clearing out any negativity and allowing them to function
at peak capacity. We need to be in balance to be in perfect health.
Crystals work with us to restore that balance.
Blockages in the flow of energy through the meridians or subtle
energy pathways will cause illness or disease in the organs supplied
by that meridian. Western medicine finds this hard to accept but
chinese medicine, thousands of years old, has always used the meridians
in all their medicine such as acupuncture.
Meridians are subtle energy channels something like the circulatory
system but they do not correspond to the same pathways such as blood
or lymph.
The Human Energy
Field, Prana & Crystals
I soon realised that all treatments were basically working with
the same energy on the same subtle levels and that all ancient knowlege
actually merged.
Prana is a Sanskrit word meaning "life-force," the invisible
bio-energy or vital energy that keeps the body alive and maintains
a state of good health.
The Japanese call this subtle energy "Ki," the Chinese
"Chi," while the Greeks refer to it as "Pneuma."
In Polynesian it is known as "Mana" and in Hebrew, "Ruwach"
meaning "Spirit" or "Breath of Life" as in the
Old Testament. Vital energy is found in several forms: earth prana,
air prana, solar prana and Divine prana.
It is all around us and in our body cells. A healthy organism operates
with plenty prana and an ill one has a deficiency of it.
We ingest it in living foods especially sprouting seeds and grains.
We breath it in with each inhalation. It is the basis of the Yogic
practice of Pranayama which saturates the living organism with life
force.
We absorb it from the sun as a cosmic blessing and absorb it from
our Mother Earth.
Divine Prana comes from the source of all that is. It is that
energy vibrating at a very high frequency which is pure divine love
and as such elevates our consciousness beyond the lower levels of
physicality and into sublime states of bliss and divine connection.
How then can we be separate from one another? How can one race
of people be special? How can one religion be especially blessed
when we are ALL manifestations of Divine Energy?
We all have the same subtle anatomy. we all come into the world
of form in the same way and we all leave our physical sheaths in
the same way also.
These are questions that seem so simple and yet have caused so
much hatred, wars and bloodshed.
Some people view things such as crystal healing as almost being
akin to being in league with the devil himself! Why? Are not crystals
the treasure of the Earth? Part of the Grand Creation? How then,
can using what has been supplied to us in love by the Creator be
wrong?
I believe that for every ailment on Earth, there is a natural remedy.
That is one of the terrible tragedies of cutting down so much of
the rain forests. Many cures are to be found among that dense vegetation.
There is a divine order in the created universe. There is a global
consciousness that exists independant of man. We have tampered and
disrupted that at our peril....as we are now discovering.

My Personal Journey With
Crystals
Like so many other important
things in my spiritual path, my fascination with crystals can be
traced back to early childhood. Always fascinated with the natural
world around me, I won the nature study prise every year at primary
school.
My friend had a very large garden at the back of which for some
reason was a large pile of what I know now to be granite rocks.
They were simply natural shaped rocks, not conventional building
bricks and I was too young to remember why they were there. What
I do remember is knowing that some shone and sparkled in the sun.
Then, when we broke them open, we found crystals and sparkling silver
deposits inside.
Well, to me at that age, it was like finding buried treasure and
that sense of wonderment at the hidden potential of rocks and crystals
never left me.
After training as a nurse and becoming more and more frustrated with
the way medicine was heading, I started studying alternative medicine
in my spare time. Just reading books and becoming aquainted with it.
The way most alternative treatments seemed to treat the whole person
'holistically' a word well used these days, resonated in me and so
I decided to go down that avenue and started treating my children
homoeopathically.
As the years have passed and my experience of different kinds
of healing increased I now see the cosmic connection in all the
many different varieties of vibrational healing whether through
colour, sound or any other practice that understands that in order
to heal holistically we need to see the human body in its entirety..
mind, body and spirit, existing in divine balance and each one dependant
on the healthy functioning of the next.
I will never forget the words of a wise allopathic
doctor I once attended.
He told me when we were discussing my views on conventional and
alternative medicine,
