Love's Messenger
by Alison Stormwolf

love's messengerCome home, come home
Sweet wings of love
Come home, your flight arrest,
For I have found a good strong tree
Where you can take your rest

I’ll ask no more
You set your course
Into the dawn’s pink light
Or soar in sun with eagles
Nor glide in stars by night

My heart still beats
My spirit sings
My soul still wanders on
But life will never be the same
Now that my love has gone

So close your wings
Across your breast
And rest in that strong tree
And wait the day
I summon forth
Your wings of love for me.
