The Server With The Shears
The pain of a love trapped in a prison
constructed by a prolonged death agony
Cancels out all vision for the good
Oh! that I could be that saviour with the shears
To cut and release those mental bars of slavery
But all I have is good intent
To feed you with hope through
your rusting window of despair
And smuggle you sweet things
As you do the suffering
And search for the sun
Seen so briefly
On his voyage
Through
your
dark
sky

Rainbows In The Shadows
Come with me
And we will dance
In the shadows
And our feet shall make no sound
Nor leave any trace
On the white frost ground
Only the frozen rainbows
Of breath in spirals
And the muted beating
Of the Earth’s core
Will alert anyone
To the weaving of wonder
And the chasing away
Of dread
I come alive
In the moonlight
Maybe explains the lack of sun
In this soul of mine
I am lunar
Receiving
All watchful
Will you take the lead
or shall I?

October Morning In Scotland
We pass this way, like morning mist
Settled for seconds on the hayfields
God’s exhalation
And I think of life and the loves I knew
In my different meadows,
through different seasons
My 'soul’s treasure'
Connection and love
Are all around me now
For I hear their hearts a-beating
In my gentle sheltering darkness
As I walk in sacred silence
Knowing other’s share this wonder
For I cannot stop the music
In the centre of my being
For I know that I am
Part of “The Great Song”
As my brothers and my sisters
Sing along.

Sand Scribbler
She writes poetry in the sand
And the incoming tide
Leaves her unaffected
For thoughts formed into letters
Take wings
And knowing this
Before the waves
She sings
Freedom in her walk
And hair
Knowing
She
Is everywhere

Rainy Day In Sauchen
Gentle and hypnotic
Rain falls through my bare trees
Mesmerised by sound and memories I sit
watching dripping diamonds
Owning nothing has a certain dark appeal
No longer caring if the roof leaks
Cut free from slavery
To materialism
Unbreakable stare
I move aside
To allow
Creativity
To enter.

Protection And Exposure
I long
To wrap you up
In a blanket
Pluck you
From those
Shifting sands
Those
Lying illusions
Of
Inner
Beliefs
Are you ready
To see
Your
Magnificence?
Can your soul
Stand to see
The contrast
Between
What you
Perceive
And what
You
Are?
Maybe
You
Should
Shield
Your
Eyes
Now

Sleeper by the Water
She sleeps on white cotton
Under a muslin canopy
Incubating dreams
Like she incubates poems
Answers to nobody
Has become herself at last
Once a frozen statue
Beyond the comprehension
Of all but the most insightful
Now there is warmth in her limbs
Visions in her mind
And fruit in her basket.
Oh, and when she loves
Locked portals fly open...

Soul Talk
There is gentleness in nature
It’s most pronounced at dusk
Almost as if the Creator
Is bedding us all down
Tucking us in
And saying
'There is always tomorrow'
There is a mercy in nature
Extending into the human heart
At daybreak along with the dawn chorus
Which speaks of second chances
New beginnings
Wiped slates
Deep and powerful
Indescribably beautiful and humbling
Is the language without words

Evolution
Solitude has opened up the depth in me
Now I crave the peace of my own company
As I used to chase the bright lights
Deep is my inner joy in the knowing
I am not chained in constraints of emotional need
For like attract like
And I have no attraction for those who
Have not plumbed their own depths
Too many rivers crossed
Too much stripped away
To sell my precious treasure
For a song

Liberation
Needed to be pruned
In order to bloom
Too much dead wood
Keeps us stagnant
Rigid, unyeilding
Conforming to pre suggestion
I got tired of dragging yesterday around
Like a dead co-joined twin
Took a pair of shears to that
Albatross dangling from my neck
There is huge freedom
In surrender...

Female Centaur
Shape shifting
Felt so good
Years of constraint
Had left her hooves pounding dry earth
And chaffing at an imaginary bit
Cold air in her nostrils
And power in her loins
She soared over the confines
Of yesterdays dreams
And all that was heard
Were the echoes of galloping hooves
Leaving trampled clover in her wake
And no man
Was ever going to ride this wild filly
As her pace gathered speed
And startled animals ran for cover
She knew the choice was now
All hers.
