Moments in time, reflections,
my precious jigsaw puzzle...
Priceless memories, thoughts and thanksgiving for the blessings
of people, animals, places and experiences granted to me on my life's
journey.

Children
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom
said, "Speak to us of Children."
And he said:
"Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's
longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong
not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not
to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with
yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of
the infinite, and He bends you
with His might that His arrows may go swift
and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for
gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable."

My beloved Pushka

The
Wise One
Where do I start
To tell you
How much I love you?
You are my greatest
blessing
Wrapped up in cat skin
Oh, I know
You are not a cat
You have chosen
That guise
Words become redundant
For the love in my heart
Never a 'cat person'
You stormed
My barricades
Re-wrote my intuition
Educated me
Melted me
My life
is enriched
I am
Hopelessly
Devoted
to you.

"...What is man without the beast?
If all the beasts were gone,
man would die from a great loneliness of spirit..."

About This Poem:
Animals have been my greatest teachers. I could
not live in a world devoid of them. For more

Dedication
to my Dad

Nairn
skyline at sunset (The Darkest Hour is Just Before
the Dawn.)
Dedicated to my father Jackie Bunker.
For Dad
I sense your presence
in the beauty of the Nairn sunset...
I see you running as a young boy
down to the harbour...
I know your spirit
as I read Omar Khayyam...
For I see through your eyes.
I understand your trials,
for I know your heart.
How then....
can you EVER be dead to me?

"And this I know: Whether
the one True Light
Kindle to Love or Wrath consume me quite
One flash of IT within the Tavern caught
Better than in the Temple lost outright."

for Morning in the Bowl of night
Has flung the Stone that puts the Stars to flight:
And Lo! the Hunter of the East has caught
The Sultan's Turret in a Noose of light."

"Does the road
wind uphill all the way?
Yes to the very end
Will the day's journey take
the whole day long?
From morn to night, my friend."

"Life is an obstacle race we chose from
birth.
We all have the inevitable swings and roundabouts.
Some of these poems were written
when the author mistakenly thought that
she had left the park!"

Learning the Way
(To My Children)
There was a time
I stood in the shadows
No longer am I
That fugitive from the light.
Always questioning
My grasshopper mind
Rendered me adrift from truth
until I returned to the square one
To re- enact my search
Oh, so painful was it all
So face me now
And tell me where I fail?
So you do not see yourself
When you look at me?
I have chosen a different path
So you will maybe not
Feel at home
Celebrate my uniqueness
Defying all conventional thought
I wish I could give you my insight
Save you from the pain and confusion
of trying to explain
The unexplicable
The elevating of the dull
And lifeless
Ways of the conventional world
For to experience great joy
Means being able
to plumb great depths
Dive deep
Fly high...
Live.
